Some of the birds that were successfully rehabilitated and released. Some birds are not so lucky if their injuries are too severe for them to be able to survive in the wild. The majority of injured birds we admit are the victims of cat attacks. A cat’s bacteria is lethal to birds. Put on a correctly fitted collar with a bell on it. Place feeders at least 2m from dense vegetation to stop a cat hiding and surprising birds. Place nest boxes out of reach.

It is estimated that cats catch up to 27 MILLION BIRDS in a year in the UK plus ones that are not known about, for example birds a cat does not bring home.
